Build a Precise eBay Hunt

Describe the exact eBay buy you want — a max all-in cost (item + shipping), a local-pickup distance, a condition, a buying format — and save it. That combination is something eBay's own saved searches can't build: they match a keyword, but they can't cap your all-in cost or filter by how far you'd drive. Build your hunt below, see matching listings on AuctionMapper now, and keep it for the slow hunt — no account needed.

A model or brand works best. The more specific, the better the matches.

Buying format
None selected = both.

Item + shipping — the number eBay never shows you up front.

Not sure where to start? Try a ready-made template: vintage stereo receivers, Aeron chairs, or Tudor BB58 grail hunt. Or browse all templates.

The Hunt eBay's Saved Searches Can't Build

Cap the landed cost, not the sticker

A $500 item with $120 shipping costs more than a $560 one with free shipping. A hunt caps the all-in cost — item + shipping — so the math is honest. (Sales tax varies by state and is not included.)

Filter by how far you'd drive

For heavy or bulky finds, local pickup beats any shipping quote. Set a distance from your ZIP and only see the ones you can actually collect.

All your filters in one hunt

Keyword, condition, Buy It Now vs auction, a price band, landed cost, and distance — combined. eBay makes you choose; a hunt keeps them together.

A Worked Example

Say you want a vintage Yamaha receiver, used, under $700 all-in, within 100 miles for local pickup:

  • Keyword: “Yamaha CR-1020 receiver”
  • Condition: Used · Format: Buy It Now
  • Max all-in cost: $700 (item + shipping)
  • Within 100 mi of your ZIP for pickup

eBay's saved search can match the keyword and a price band, but it can't cap the all-in cost or filter by drive distance. A Grail Hunt expresses the whole thing — and AuctionMapper sorts the results by total cost so the genuinely cheapest, closest one wins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can eBay notify me when a specific item appears under a target price?

eBay's saved searches match keywords, but can't combine total landed cost, pickup distance, condition, and format. A Grail Hunt does — you build it once and check AuctionMapper for matches instead of refreshing eBay.

What is landed cost?

The all-in price: item + shipping. Sales tax varies by state and is not included in the hunt cap. See the exact math with the True Cost Calculator.

Do I need an account?

No — build and save a hunt free, no email. It's stored on your device. Email sign-in is available today if you want AuctionMapper to monitor a hunt and keep it available across your devices.

AuctionMapper links to listings on eBay and may earn a commission through the eBay Partner Network when you buy — at no extra cost to you. We never adjust what you see based on commission.
