Frequently Asked Questions

AuctionMapper is a free eBay search tool that lets you browse all 20,000+ eBay categories without typing a keyword. It provides a browsable category tree, category-specific filters, a dedicated Total Price column (item price + displayed shipping), and local-pickup controls in one interface. eBay also has a native Price + Shipping sort. AuctionMapper searches eBay's live inventory via the official Browse API. Founded in 2004.

Five things:

1. Browse any of eBay's 20,000+ categories without entering a search term.
2. See a dynamic category tree that trims to show only categories with results.
3. Get filters that change by category — dial color and reference number for watches, CFM rating and barrel count for carburetors, seat size for saddles, scale and era for diecast models.
4. See and sort a dedicated Total Price column beside item price and shipping.
5. Filter for local-pickup listings (see our dedicated eBay search by zip code distance guide for the full distance workflow).

Everything eBay sells. AuctionMapper works across all 20,000+ eBay categories: auto parts, watches, western saddles, diecast models, camera lenses, coins, clothing, handbags, sporting goods, musical instruments, and more. The category-specific filters adapt automatically — watch filters appear when browsing watches, auto parts filters appear when browsing auto parts, and so on.

Yes. AuctionMapper searches the same live eBay listings you would find on eBay.com. Same items, same sellers, same prices. When you click through to buy, you complete the purchase on eBay with eBay's standard buyer protection.

Use eBay Advanced Search for sold and completed listing research, and eBay saved searches for email notifications. AuctionMapper also offers seller filtering, item-number lookup, and a marketplace selector. It adds category-tree browsing, available aspect filters, and a comparison grid: click Price or Total to sort the up to 200 results shown, regardless of promoted placement in the incoming order. Watch this search saves a keyword or category search in eligible regions; Hunt collects monitored matches on-site and offers a daily match-summary email option when delivery is available.

Free. AuctionMapper has always been free to use. It earns affiliate commissions when users purchase through eBay links, but search results are never altered or biased by this. See our affiliate disclosure and terms of service linked below for details.
