AuctionMapper is a free interface for searching eBay's live inventory. It lets visitors browse eBay's 20,000+ category tree without typing a keyword, shows the most relevant category-dependent item specifics returned for a selected live result set, and presents item price, reported shipping, and their displayed sum in a sortable comparison grid. When a keyword is searched, the category tree trims to branches with matches. AuctionMapper queries eBay's official Browse API, so available aspects, shipping totals, and location data vary with eBay's response. AuctionMapper does not replace eBay's sold/completed, seller, or keyword-matching tools. It is an eBay Partner Network traffic source — not a competing marketplace — and every outbound listing click lands on eBay.
What AuctionMapper Adds to eBay Sporting Goods Search
AuctionMapper surfaces deeper category-specific filters from eBay's item data — attributes like Seat Size, Tree Type, and Material that become available when you drill into a specific sporting goods category.
Real Example: Finding a Western Saddle That Fits
An equestrian rider needs a 16-inch western saddle with Quarter Horse Bars — a tree width that fits her horse's build. On eBay, searching “western saddle” returns saddle pads, saddle bags, stirrups, cinches, and actual saddles all mixed together. eBay Advanced Search offers price and condition filters, but nothing for Seat Size or Tree Type.
On AuctionMapper, the tree trims to Sporting Goods > Equestrian > Saddles & Tack > Saddles. Filters appear for Seat Size, Tree Type, Brand, and Material. Select “16 inch” and “Quarter Horse Bars.” She finds three options — including one she would never have found with keyword search alone, because the seller listed it as “ranch saddle” instead of “western saddle.”

How to Find Sporting Goods in 3 Steps
Search for any sport or equipment — AuctionMapper's dynamic category tree narrows results automatically.
1. Type what you need
Enter any search term — “western saddle,” “graphite tennis racket,” or “fly fishing reel.” No need to know the exact eBay category.
2. Click the most specific category
The category tree trims in real time to show only categories with results. Click into the most specific one (e.g., Saddles, Tennis Rackets, Fly Reels).
3. Narrow with category-specific filters
Filters appear that are unique to that category — Seat Size and Tree Type for saddles; Head Size and Grip Size for rackets; Reel Size and Gear Ratio for fishing reels. Sort by total cost (price + shipping) to compare fairly.
